Its been quite some I’ve visited a fishing village, but alas, here I was at Pendas, Johor. Previous trips were never in the day, for they were only meant to be dinner runs at the nearby floating seafood restaurant.
They say that this is one of the go-to places for fresh seafood if you’re in the West part of South Johor, and if the best catch is what you’re after, then you’d have to be there when the fishermen brings in their catch at about 8am and closer to noon.
For myself, I wasn’t there for fish. I was just being there on a whim with my OM-3 and the PL12-60mm in hand.
And if you ever do intend to pay a visit, PLEASE DO BRING CASH, as the data network coverage is not the best (as of Jun26) for making fund transfers via your mobile apps. I had to walk 2 mins to the not-so-main road to start my app, walk another 2 mins to the shop to scan the QR code for the transfer and walk another 2 mins back to the road just to complete the transfer. Such are the penalties for forgetful people like myself who are so often at the mercy of the calamity of leaving your wallet behind at home. That is, assuming that your wallet isn’t already empty anyways, haha. I know, I have been there
